Courage

Day 534.

“They say that courage is fear that has said its prayers.”
                    –Anne Lamott

Fear is a feeling I know well. I have a Masters in Worry, Fret & Fear in the 20th & 21st Centuries. And for a long spell I didn’t get that drinking alcohol inflamed my fear into full blown anxiety. And anxiety is a harsh task master.

I’m grateful I found the courage — I found it gathering dust in the corner, said my prayers and started counting the days of sober.

Little prayers. Demolishing fear – or at least diminishing fear by removing all flammable liquids.
