“The brokenhearted are the bravest among us; they dared to love.”
–Brené Brown (Rising Strong manifesto)
Her quote above jumped out at me as they were chatting – and gave me such solace.
I’ve been viewing a broken heart as a feature of being a failure. Brene says it should be seen as a badge of courage for being human! Made me so happy! Yes, happy! Instead of sobbing and full of regrets, I felt a little bit differently about it.
Speaking of regrets …
Brené shared insight into regrets. She believes that it makes no sense to try and live a regret-free life. To her, “No regrets” means living without reflection. To live “no regrets” is to believe you have nothing to learn, no amends to make, and no opportunity to be braver with your life.
Two thoughts that remove shame from your life. Honoring broken hears and welcoming regrets with open arms. Bravo!!!!
Though I sound a little glib about it all… it’s not that, it’s having new ways to view difficult things in my life.
