Meet the new me, same as the old me

Day 266.

Wish I could include a credit for this image, but can’t seem to locate the source.

It speaks volumes to me.

The new me is really the old me.

In the image I see the old me re-emerging from a thick blanket of denial of my needs, of my true self, of self-medication and of lethargy.

One year of sobriety is now, to quote a Trisha Yearwood song, the nearest distant shore…. I can see it from here!

I’m sober, I’m physically active, I’m losing weight, I am trying to be unapologetically me, and I’m trying to show up to my life in full awareness every single day.

Hello me!

Bless all of you reading this. ❤️
